Kerrang 2009 Best British Newcomers In Case Of Fire return with their epic new single “Pretender”, which is released as a free download from the band’s website
www.incaseoffire.org.uk on July 30.
In Case Of Fire singer/guitarist Steve Robinson says, “We’re so excited to finally get our new songs out there. It’s been a long time coming, but we feel like the new material is definitely worth the wait.” With 2009’s debut album “Align The Planets” having garnered critical acclaim across the board for its ambitious melodic rock, In Case Of Fire’s new single “Pretender” drinks from the same well of inspiration. The epic, sweeping choruses and disjointed, angular rhythms draw comparisons to the aggressive, cerebral pop of Muse in their “Absolution” pomp.
Having been named the winner of MTV’s 2008 Spanking New competition ahead of acts such as Adele, Foals and Black Kids, In Case Of Fire spent the next two years marking themselves out as a band very much in the ascendancy thanks to their trademark visceral live shows and soaring, epic melodies. After a self-imposed hiatus, the band is itching to return to the rock fraternity and the challenge to establish themselves in the higher echelons where they belong.
